Business Connectivity

Business Connectivity is a BroadWorks application for connecting enterprise customer premise equipment (CPE) such as Key Systems, TDM PBX, and IP PBXs to a service provider VoIP service for PSTN calling and value-added services. With Business Connectivity, end-users get the benefits of Hosted PBX features/functionality without immediately undergoing a transition to a fully hosted offering.

Over time, service providers can augment their Business Connectivity offering with Hosted PBX, allowing them to pursue customers in every phase of the PBX lifecycle – and maximize their addressable market.

End-User Customer Benefits

Self Management

Web-based management allows enterprise administrators and end-users to control their own features and policies — increasing the effectiveness of their service offering.

Increased productivity

Business Connectivity includes BroadWorks Mobile Unified Communications which allow employees to have one number for both their mobile and desk phone and short message service (SMS). Features such as fixed mobile convergence, Microsoft Hosted Messaging and Collaboration 4.5, Tele-presence Video over SIP Trunking, and a unified voicemail box dramatically improve employee reachability and productivity.

No need to maintain separate voice and data lines

Dynamic bandwidth management eliminates the need to maintain separate lines for voice and data. When a call is made, bandwidth is allocated then released after the call is completed.

Business Continuity

Government agencies and businesses can reroute calls and maintain telephone services to any location and any device, including landline phones, mobile devices and PC-based soft phones.

SIPconnect Compliant

Speed to market

BroadWorks Business Connectivity is compliant with the SIP Forum’s SIPconnect™ standard. SIPconnect compliance dramatically reduces or eliminates the need for interoperability testing between the service provider’s network and a SIP trunk on an IP PBX. Fixed mobile convergence features are delivered over SIP Trunking through Mobile Unified Communications.

BroadSoft's involvement in the SIPconnect standardization efforts helps service providers improve their time-to-market for delivering services demanded by both small and medium businesses (SMBs) and large enterprises.
