A-MGF / AGCF
The Access Media Gateway Function (A-MGF) and Access Gateway Control Function (AGCF) are crucial components in IMS/TISPAN, enabling IMS cores to connect to and control legacy TDM access networks. GENBAND's G6 and G2 Media Gateways are versatile A-MGF/AGCFs that connect IMS cores to multiple forms of TDM access -- including Class 5/LE line frames, Digital Loop Carriers, Access Nodes, and PBXs. By extending lMS call control to legacy PSTN devices, PSTN/ISDN Emulation Services (PES) and a host of new IMS services like web portals can be provided to customers served by today's legacy access networks -- enabling revenue growth and resolving service providers' network convergence challenges.
- Highly interoperable G6 and G2 Packet Line Gateways that connect the IMS core to legacy TDM access networks
- Enables common IMS control and applications across SIP/VoIP, 3G, and TDM access
- Allows service transparency to legacy networks via PSTN emulation from the IMS core
- Advances revenue generation by providing new IMS services and web portals to customers served by legacy access
- Emergency Stand Alone (ESA) for reliability and IMS redundancy
- Open-standards-based, compliant with IMS/TISPAN specifications
- Scalable port capacity supporting a few hundred to tens of thousands of legacy PSTN connections
